Several colleges and institutions of higher learning are a part of the neighborhood, including Seattle University. Locals now enjoy Cal Anderson Park, a newly renovated park that boasts a playground, splash ground, jogging trails and vast lawns for residential enjoyment amid city life.
The area is known primarily for its coffee, music, and nightlife. Shopping and tourism may not be the priority in Capitol Hill, but a primary retail district isn’t more than a mile away. Capitol Hill has become a popular hang out on the weekend for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Most of the housing in the area is a mix of old style elegance, with new condominium style apartments. With Capitol Hill residing at the base of modern high rises, the overall community tone is urban chic. Aside from the community destinations, residents enjoy the close proximity to downtown work and a central location to surrounding Seattle neighborhoods.
